FAQ

How OSRS Clans works, and how clans work in Old School RuneScape.

Using OSRS Clans

How do I find a clan to join?

Open the clan list on the home page. Narrow it by a tag such as PvM, Skilling or Social, by recruitment, or by account type. Each clan page shows the clan's requirements and its live stats.

How do I join a clan I found here?

Open the clan's page and press its Discord or Fluxer button, if the clan gave one. Each clan runs its own recruitment, so the clan answers your request, not OSRS Clans.

What do Open, Selective and Closed mean?

Open: everyone is welcome. Selective: the clan takes members by application. Closed: the clan is not actively recruiting.

How do I list my clan?

Sign in and send an application with the clan's name, a description and a screenshot that shows you are on the clan's staff. An administrator compares it with the clan's Discord server, then accepts it or gives the reason for a refusal. After a refusal, you can apply again at the same address.

Can a clan pay for a better place?

No. You cannot buy a position, a rank or an advertisement on this site. The home page shows the clans in a different order on each visit, so no clan stays at the top.

Where do the numbers come from?

The member count, the total experience, the EHP and the EHB come from the clan's Wise Old Man group. A dash means that the clan has no connected group. It does not mean zero.

My clan changed its address. Do old links still work?

Yes. A link to the old clan page opens the clan at its new address, until another clan takes the old one.

Is OSRS Clans part of Jagex?

No. OSRS Clans is an unofficial directory. Jagex has no connection with this site, and Old School RuneScape is the property of Jagex.

Clans in Old School RuneScape

How do I make a clan in OSRS?

Go to the Clan Hub in the south-east corner of the Grand Exchange and talk to the Clan Hub clerk. A clan needs five founding members, and each of them must have spent at least 25 hours in the game. The clan's name must be unique.

How do I join a clan in the game?

A clan member with recruiting rights can invite you. You can also join a clan as a guest and press Apply in the Settings of the guest clan tab. Some clans list themselves on the recruitment board in the Clan Hub.

What is the difference between a clan chat (CC) and a friends chat (FC)?

A friends chat is a chat channel that any player can make with the Clan setup button. Anyone can join it with the Join Chat button, and a message to it starts with one slash (/). A clan has ranked members, and a player can be a ranked member of one clan only. A message to the clan channel starts with two slashes (//). Players still say "clan chat" for both, because the friends chat was first named Clan Chat.

How many members can a clan have?

A clan can have 500 members. A friends chat also holds 500 players at one time.
