Halloween Event 2026

  • This year's Halloween Event has arrived! Head over to Rimmington and speak to either Angel or Henja to begin the event!

The Fractured Archive - Post-release Tweaks

  • Added an Offensive Stat reduction cap of 50% to Ocellus, Xarth and Dreadnoth. With more people getting used to budget setups, we've noticed Emberlight Special Attack spamming proving perhaps a little too potent. We don't mind a little bit of offensive stat reduction, but these rooms shouldn't realistically end up in a stage where you just sit back and facetank everything the bosses throw at you.

  • Adjusted how Ocellus chooses a tank to more reliably respect 'orb order', since this could break if players in the raid died or were in the wrong quadrant.

    • Now, Ocellus will focus on the party leader in the first quadrant, then move down the list in orb order for subsequent quadrants, skipping over dead players or players not in the quadrant.

    • Additionally, we've added a small sound effect that only the tank can hear when Ocellus focuses on them, and a chat message to indicate which player he's focusing on.

  • We have resolved some issues and made some adjustments to the contribution system, these changes mostly amount to:

    • Deaths being a little less punishing for individuals, which is partly why it was so easy to receive Cabbages (especially in larger scales).

    • Team deaths having a larger impact on unique rates for the group. Individual player deaths weren't correctly impacting group unique chances, which resulted in your team's chance at a unique being slightly higher than intended.

    • Full information will be provided on how loot and contribution work in painstaking detail next week!

  • Made the diminishing returns on damage dealt per quadrant to Ocellus (by the Blade) during P2 more forgiving. In essence, this means you'll likely deal a little more damage to Ocellus in larger scales if you're routinely dealing a lot of damage per quadrant.

  • Adjusted party behaviour to prevent parties from disbanding after a wipe inside The Fractured Archive.

  • Fixed a bug that was inadvertently kicking players out of the party if they logged out (or disconnected) then logged back in again.

  • Adjusted some behaviour at Moia so that if multiple players are stood underneath the same Undead Binder, they'll be pushed out and only take one instance of damage, rather than taking one instance of damage per player stood beneath the Undead Binder.

  • Moved where the Rondache's Flat Armour/Magic Resistance is applied in damage calculations. This should now be done after other forms of damage mitigation, including Protection prayers.

  • Fixed an issue where players could have their POV shifted briefly to a spectator's POV if their teammate died at Ocellus.

  • Increased the volume of the warning before void bombs begin in Ocellus P4 so that players can more easily get straight into cycle.

  • Updated both the drop model and inventory icon for the Obligator.

  • Stopped regular loot from spamming Clan/Friend Chats with 'very valuable' messages. We've made an exception here for the cabbage, nothing is more valuable than a group of friends willing to carry you through your darkest moments.

  • Added a new and unique teleport animation for the Archivist's Folio.

  • Prevented Bork's overhead text overlapping with him calling out the next tank. Tank announcements should now always be the priority.

  • Fixed an issue where Ezekiel's swords could deal unavoidable damage to players if overlapping with his transition into P2.

  • The Rondache is now recognised as a Saradominist item.

  • Added Orion to the 'All Pets' Collection Log entry.

  • Increased the Grand Exchange Buy Limit for Ascension Shards from 100, up to 30,000.

  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from looting their chest in the loot room if they log out while in the room.

  • Prevented Ascension Bolts from dropping to the floor when made with a full inventory.

  • Allowed the Jeweller's Chisel to work on Ascension shards.

  • Prevented the Infernal Pickaxe from smelting Ascension shards, which literally cannot be smelted.

  • Made some small tweaks to the colouring of Dreadnoth and the mini-jellies.

  • Removed Zeal from the 'Agility Shortcuts' section of the Strength skill guide. It could be argued that the extra power is a PvM shortcut, but doesn't have all that much to do with Agility...

  • Fixed an issue where some Global completion/death stats weren't displaying correctly on the Records Board in the lobby. We'll update these with up-to-date information shortly after the update, though this won't be immediate.

In case you missed them, we also deployed a handful of hotfixes last week, we'd like to highlight a few of the standouts:

  • Fixed an issue where 60% Defence Reduction caps were not in place for Archive Guardian, Bork, Ezekiel, Moia, Xarth, Ocellus.

  • As a compromise, we removed Ocellus' defence restoration between quadrants during P3.

  • Adjusted disconnect behaviour so that players don't lose food/potions (including purple sweets) on disconnect, to alleviate fears of disconnecting inside the raid and losing huge stacks of sugary goodness.

  • Fixed a bug where players could 'pre-stack' Zorya's Tome and benefit from additional boosted attacks before using any Special Attacks at the encounter.

  • Fixed bugs which resulted in the Archive Guardian and Ocellus occasionally disappearing during a phase transition.

  • Adjusted the sword dodging at Ezekiel so that you can still do a dodge roll even if you're moving or attacking at range on the tick before.

Other Changes

  • The issues regarding Araxxor's acid attacks from last week's game update have been resolved.

  • The Rune Pouch now offers 'Fractured Archive' as a loadout name.

  • Items from Pete Kayer's storage are now automatically returned when it's suitable (when the player is in a safe area and has space for them in the inventory).

  • Fixed an issue that made it difficult to select the Ancient Magicks spellbook on mobile when setting up a Last Man Standing loadout.

  • The items Earthbound tecpatl, Antler guard, Alchemist's signet, and Broken antler are now counted under the correct section of the Collection Log.

  • Ironmen can once again pick up the net at Sunset Coast.

  • Fixed a bug where the Armour case and Toy box couldn't be searched for items.

  • The Rondache is now recognised as a Saradominist item.

  • The Account Guide on Tutorial Island has had his dialogue expanded slightly, explaining to new arrivals that they can play their character on both desktop and mobile devices, so they can take adventures to whichever is convenient.

  • We've expanded the selection of 'Did you know?' tips that the game offers upon log in.

  • The Karamja Achievement Diary's header now turns green once you've completed all tasks, bringing it in line with the other Achievement Diaries.

  • Fixed a bug where Frost Dragons could be assigned as a Slayer task without completing the Dragon Slayer I quest.

  • Fixed the broken lines of the text that appears when speaking to TzHaar-Ket-Rak after completing the Jad challenge.

  • Some NPC chat has been corrected in the Hallowed Sepulchre.

PvP Rota

The PvP rota has moved to Period B:

  • 560 - (UK) - PvP World

  • 319 - (US) - Bounty Hunter World

  • 579 - (US) - High-Risk PvP World

  • 561 - (UK) - Free-to-Play PvP World

  • 580 - (US) - LMS Competitive

World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive has been de-activated with this rota.

World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter has been de-activated with this rota.

The PvP Arena is using 'Max/Med' loadouts in Ranked Duels and Tournaments this week.

Halloween Event 2026

It's officially spooky season in Gielinor, and this year's Halloween event is all trick, no treats! Henja and Angel have been entrusted with a massive bowl of sweets to hand out to trick-or-treaters, and they get to keep whatever's left at the end of the night. Naturally, their mischieveous minds start cooking up a plan... Why hand out any sweets when you could keep all of them? Will you help them with their candy-fueled mischief to protect their precious stash?

To kick off this year's Halloween Event, talk to either Angel or Henja in Rimmington and get those shenanigans started!

Rewards

Complete the Halloween 2026 Event and you can sink your teeth into some bloody good rewards:

The Fractured Archive: Post-release Tweaks

Tricks aside, it seems like last week's launch of The Fractured Archive has gone down a treat for many of you! We've seen over a quarter of a million completions so far, over a million groups created, almost four million deaths, and have been overwhelmed with the feedback on the raid itself - particularly with the praise you've had for Ocellus, who's already cementing himself as one of the most iconic encounters in the game.

We're still holding fire on any significant balancing tweaks since we think raids tend to want more time before we rush in to make changes. Though we would like to add: with more people figuring out the left-side rooms and viable budget setups, while we have some initial thoughts on things that we could change, we're still not looking to jump the gun.

Before we get into the good stuff, we have one small change to address a more recent discovery:

  • Added an Offensive Stat reduction cap of 50% to Ocellus, Xarth and Dreadnoth. With more people getting used to budget setups, we've noticed Emberlight Special Attack spamming proving perhaps a little too potent. We don't mind a little bit of offensive stat reduction, but these rooms shouldn't realistically end up in a stage where you just sit back and facetank everything the bosses throw at you.

We've got some cool achievements and content to share soon, but we'd like to fire off a bunch of small tweaks for the raid and its rewards that we've seen you asking for:

  • Adjusted the sword dodging at Ezekiel so that you can still do a dodge roll even if you're moving the tick before.

That's all we've got in terms of changes today! Before moving on we would like to say that we are working on a delay for the sparkles on your personal loot chest to avoid spoiling whether or not you've gotten a unique, we're optimistic that we can release a fix for this within the next couple of weeks.

We do have some early thoughts on potential tweaks to the raid itself but want to wait a little longer now that more players are in a comfortable grinding loop and a wider variety of players are getting stuck in with more budget setups. In the meantime though, we've got some achivements to highlight and some content that we'd like to share.

First up, some congratulations are in order for:

Player Support and Anti-Cheating Statistics

Welcome back to our monthly snapshot of Player Support and Anti-Cheating activity - your behind-the-scenes look at all the hard work going into keeping Gielinor fair and fun for everyone.

Each month, we share key stats from our Player Support and Anti-Cheating teams so you can see exactly what’s been happening behind the curtain. From how quickly we’re responding to your queries, to the number of bots and rule breakers taken down, here’s the latest data for September 2026:

Metric | September 2026 | Year-to-date**

Average Response Time | 23 hours | -

Support Queries Resolved | 76,190 | 710K

Live Chat Queries Resolved | 4,650 | 47,471

Report Action Messages | 107K | 1.26M

Macro Bans (OSRS) | Total - 96,051 F2P - 69,746 P2P* - 26,305 | Total - 7.57M F2P - 7.14M P2P* - 427K

Wealth Removed (OSRS) | 5.9 Trillion | 35.3 Trillion

RWT Bans (OSRS) | Total - 19,343 F2P - 6,123 P2P* - 13,218 | 159,281

Chat Spam Mutes | 2,150 | 28,389

*P2P refers to an account with access to members’ worlds and features, either through a Bond or direct payment.

**"Year to Date" refers to the period from January 1st, 2026 through to the end of the month covered by the stats - in this case, the end of September 2026.

You can check these out in the Player Support Statistics and Anti-Cheat Statistics pages. Our teams remain as dedicated as ever to tackling cheaters, scammers, and spammers to ensure a fair playing field for all. As a result of these ongoing efforts, we're seeing an overall decline in rule-breaking activity. We're also seeing that the average account age and average account level of bots are decreasing, indicating that longer-standing and higher-level bots are being detected and removed from the game. Thanks for all the reports and support you send our way - it really does make a difference!

Additionally, we’ve had a few reports of some players being phished out of their accounts. As always, bad actors are always cooking up new tricks. We've heard of a new few ones including fake P-Mod application forms asking for login details and illegitimate Jagex Launcher downloads hosted on other websites. This is a quick reminder to stay safe out there and think twice before entering sensitive details or downloading anything advertised as relative to RuneScape. There are no P-Mod Application forms, and anything you download for RuneScape must be a subdomain of Jagex.com or RuneScape.com to be considered safe. Always download anything directly through our website or Launcher – nowhere else.

Some rules we always recommend:

  • Don't click suspicious links or download unknown files.

  • Jagex will never ask for your password or verification codes via email or messages. Never give away credentials that could be used to access your account.

  • Use your browser's phishing filters.

You can find out more about phishing on our Support Centre.
